Lawrence joined TA Europe as Partner in 2017 and is responsible for managing our Berlin office and heading our Technical Due Diligence and property transaction technical advisory services. Lawrence has been based full-time in Germany since 1996, has dual British and German nationality and is a fluent German speaker.
He has trained and worked in commercial property for the whole of his professional career, having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in London in 1995, and was subsequently Head of Technical Due Diligence (Germany) at EC Harris and then ChandlerKBS, having been Team Leader and main client contact for numerous, high-profile Technical Due Diligence commissions, across mainland Europe, which have included some of the largest commercial property deal transactions in Germany over the last 15 years. His specialist capabilities and experience also include project monitoring, building pathology and defect analysis, as well as providing specialist technical asset and maintenance management expertise to property owners across numerous property sectors. In addition, Lawrence holds the ‘BREEAM International Assessor’ licence and regularly advises investor clients on ‘Green Building’, sustainability and ESG matters.
Lawrence is a member of the AEEBC, the Association of European Building Surveyors and Building Experts, where he has represented the RICS since 2005.
Lawrence holds the following academic and professional qualifications: BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying from the University of Salford, FRICS (Chartered Building Surveyor, Fellow of the RICS), FCABE (Chartered Building Engineer, Fellow), Licensed ‘BREEAM International’ Assessor and a Certified European Building Expert (EurBE).
