- TA Europe has successfully advised the lenders financing a consortium in charge of refurbishing an important traffic junction over the Brussels Ring near Brussels airport.
- The consortium consists of Jan De Nul and Willemen Infra, who have been appointed as the preferred bidder for this project.
- The project will increase traffic safety and ensure the best possible traffic flow between the R0 and the highway A 201.
- It will also improve quality of life with a reinforcement of the open space in the area of the ring and a restoration of an open course of the Woluwe River and the surrounding Valley.
Frankfurt, 16 January 2023 – For TA Europe, this project is a significant contribution to its European infrastructure portfolio and, in particular, to the optimisation of the Belgian highway infrastructure. “It has been a great pleasure working with colleagues from Jan De Nul and Willemen to ensure this project can be initiated and carried out”, says Dr Norayr Badasyan, Associate Director at TA Europe. The public-private cooperation is part of the bigger program called ‘Works around the Ring’, in which landscape, architecture, drainage, building and maintenance as well as the reduction of hindrances will be addressed. Dr Norayr Badasyan adds, “What I like a lot about this project is that it not only focuses on improving the traffic flow and safety on the R0 and A201 – it will also constribute to a better quality of life in the surrounding residential area, as the Woluwe Valley will be restored. My colleagues from TA Europe and I are very much looking forward to a fruitful cooperation with Jan De Nul and Willemen in the next phases of this exciting project.”
