TA Europe is continuing to extend its technical expertise track record in mainland Spain, through providing pre-acquisition Technical Due Diligence services on two new downtown locations in Barcelona for Bluespace, the leading self-storage operator in Spain.
The TA Europe team, which includes first language Spanish speakers based in Berlin and longstanding architect and MEP expert partners locally in Barcelona, provided specialist property condition surveys and technical advice on an office building and a vacant retail property, both of which will shortly be converted to self-storage use for Bluespace.
The TA Europe technical team is proud to assist Bluespace – which now has over 34 self-storage locations in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia – through our technical advice and support on property acquisitions to enable its successful expansion and growing business operations.
The highly experienced Technical Due Diligence (TDD) team at TA Europe, headed by Managing Partner Lawrence Wainwright FRICS, a Chartered Building Surveyor who has been actively covering TDD work in mainland Europe from Germany since 1996, also includes architects, building engineers and project manager experts, and has also provided similar TDD advice to other self-storage operators and their investor partners on numerous locations in The Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, for a variety of retail, logistic and industrial buildings, in what is a growing market internationally.
This specialist and relevant sector experience has been found to deliver and demonstrate added value to Bluespace through an understanding and appreciation of their needs for the property, the fitness for intended purposes, requirements of the conversion process to future self-storage operations and the suitability of the buildings for the Bluespace identity and brand.
In addition, our in-house technical team have impressive experience of Technical Due Diligence reviews in Barcelona on other commissions for investors or operators, across other property sectors in the city, including technical audits of 4-star hotels, including a Hilton hotel, along with advice to investors for office building acquisitions in the city, including a redevelopment appraisal of the landmark Torre Agbar tower.
